Davison is a product development company with designs that
have sold in over 1,000 retail and online stores. CEO George Davison has
created a 110,000 square foot office in Pittsburgh, about half of which is
called Inventionland, a creative atmosphere for the design and development
team. Davison cannot guarantee that someone else will not think of the same
idea while they are working and developing an invention idea, but they can
guarantee that inventors will work with professional quality service. Davison
has more than twenty years of experience designing, engineering, building and
testing new inventions. However, they do warn their clients that few inventions
will be licensed, sold in stores, or result in financial gain.
Davison can also guarantee a confidential exchange of ideas
and information, so inventors don’t have to worry that their ideas will be
taken. Trusting someone else with your idea is one of the hardest things
inventors will go through in the development process.
Another thing that Davison will guarantee is a design team
that will work with inventors in every aspect of product development, including
product research, design, engineering, prototype constructions and packaging.
Davison also has affiliation with many corporations looking to consider new
ideas for potential licensing deals. In order to get these license deals,
Davison prepares materials and product samples for presentations, negotiates
licensing agreements and manages royalties, if a product reaches a point where
it is generating sales.
New product development is an uncertain endeavor and the
typical invention is not licensed, sold on any market, or profitable. In fact,
no company can guarantee success. To this day, even big companies like Apple
Inc. and Microsoft can’t guarantee their new products and software will do
well.
Davison’s research, development and presentation services
are provided for an upfront fee paid by the client and a contingent fee (which
is a percentage of royalties obtained by the client, if any). New product development is an uncertain
endeavor and the use of Davison’s services typically does not result in a
license agreement, sales on any market or profit to the inventor. Davison does not perform analysis of the
feasibility, marketability, patentability or profitability of ideas submitted
to it.
