In the next 30 odd years, the hanger developed the features that we all recognize now. It received it's wishbone design, use of padding to prevent wrinkles, and had been made out of more expensive materials for fine garments. Today, the majority of hangers in use are made out of plastic.

Another invention that has changed the overall layout of the closet is the shoe rack. Aside from clothes hangers, this may be the most prevalent item in your closet. Especially if you are a women. Let’s face it. There are some men that have a large shoe collection. Typically though, that department is dominated by the ladies.
